After a fairly dry summer we have at last received a substantial amount of rain over the last few days, the river has been running high (check the EA river levels) mainly with only the higher beats being fishable at the time, as or "if" the rain stops then the lower beats will become available, there has been a lot of Salmon, seen, hooked/ lost and some even landed and returned, please record all fish hooked on your catch return as this will give some sort of guide regarding numbers of fish in the river at any given time, the downside to fishing this time of year is the leaves! they are starting to appear in the river, spinners with larger blades can sometimes clear leaves away from the hook if you are lucky.
